What Does CBD Feel Like? 3 Things to Remember

CBD is all the rage right now. Believe it or not, buying CBD oil is federally legal (with a few small exceptions) as long as it comes from hemp. If you’ve been thinking about trying it for yourself, now might be the time to see if it’s right for you.

But what does CBD feel like? How do you know if it’s a good thing to add to your daily routine? We’re here to talk about it.

Keep reading to learn all about what it feels like when you’re using CBD.

Is It Psychoactive?

Many people confuse CBD and THC, especially when CBD comes from the marijuana plant instead of the hemp plant. Do they do the same thing?

Even if CBD oil comes from the marijuana plant, it only has enough THC to trigger the entourage effect. This means that the small amount of THC works together with the CBD to enhance its effects.

CBD oil, with or without trace amounts of THC, is never going to be psychoactive. That is to say that it won’t get you “high” or even trigger a buzz.

For some people, this is disappointing. For people who are trying to take advantage of the benefits of CBD, however, this is a good thing. It means that taking CBD shouldn’t get in the way of you taking care of your daily tasks and activities.

CBD and Mood

Keep in mind that evidence that supports the benefits of CBD is currently anecdotal. There is not enough scientific information regarding CBD (aside from research on a single CBD-based seizure medication). That doesn’t mean that people can’t report the benefits that they’ve felt after taking it.

Many people report that they feel a sense of “calm” after taking CBD, even if they were already suffering from anxiety. It may also help with relaxation before bed.

People tend to feel more uplifted after taking CBD, though again, this is anecdotal and it will depend on the individual.

CBD is not a replacement for any psychiatric medication.

CBD and Pain

When it comes to pain, there is a small amount of scientific research that supports the theory that CBD can help with inflammation, but this research has only been done on mice so far.

Anecdotal evidence supports this theory. People who experience chronic pain have taken CBD and experienced some level of pain relief, though CBD won’t get rid of the pain altogether.

Again, CBD is not a replacement for pain medications. It can, however, supplement your use of pain medications.

What Does CBD Feel Like? It Depends

If you’re wondering “what does CBD feel like?”, the only way to find out for sure is to try it yourself. Most evidence regarding the benefits of CBD is anecdotal, so it may vary from person to person.

Luckily, there are plenty of retailers of CBD products on the web if you’d like to give it a try.
